Two topics to do with the protection of the environment ought to be of importance to each and every one of us, not just because respective laws say so, but because it ought to be a given arising out of our inherent responsibility to preserve our environment. AGNAT has already been committed to these issues for several years:
The NOx reduction in flue gasses from industrial plants and the proper disposal of hazardous wastes which are subject to special controls and which pose a particular risk to the environment.
In all those areas where primary measures within the production process and all downstream secondary measures lack effectiveness or simply cannot be effective in achieving compliance with the legally prescribed threshold values , a special need for action is called for. The flue gas denitrification is a core element in fulfilling the guidelines imposed by the EU and enshrined by German government in the German Federal emission laws (BImSchG) to adhere to threshold values for clean air. AGNAT has for many years now made it its declared business to supply in particular the cement industry with secondary products to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) in flue gas.
These non-catalytic reduction processes (SNCR) generally operate using an ammonia-water solution. Such secondary products, to name for example ammonia-water solutions from chemical processes, generally tend to fulfil technical requirements and offer the user a significant economic advantage. At the same time the producers of ammonia-water solutions are being provided with a sensible option of making use of their incidental by-product. Thus thanks to AGNAT, everyone involved in using recycled ammonia-water solutions as a denitrification agent, benefits from a classic “win-win” solution!
Waste Disposal
The legally-compliant disposal of waste that is subject to special controls is another key business area of AGNAT. Some of its employees have been working in the waste disposal sector since the mid 1970s and have been instrumental in the creation of the current Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrW‐/AbfG) in working groups and committees. When the foremost objective of prevention and utilisation is no longer possible it becomes vital for the originator of the waste product to be disposed of to have a proper disposal option at hand that is fully compliant with legal regulations.
To present its customers with legally compliant disposal options at terms that are economically viable for them is what AGNAT regards as its obligation to its customers.
AGNAT has secured capacities in officially approved disposal units for most types of wastes and the logistics concepts required are as a rule developed exclusively with approved partner companies to suit customers’ individual requirements. Should further services be desired, such as assistance with approval procedures, quality controls etc., this can also be arranged at any point in time. AGNAT naturally also has the relevant real estate licenses and its employees regularly attend any professional training courses that are required.
